Unable to open PPES Administration - Access is Denied

Description:

You receive an Access is denied error when logging into
PowerPlay Enterprise Server Administration.

Error Message -

Access is denied

Solution:

Follow these steps to correct this issue:

1. Open a Command Prompt and go to the Program Files/cognos/cer4/ppserver directory.

2. Rename the ppsroot.cfx file to ppsroot.old.

3. Stop and then restart the PowerPlay Enterprise Server service.

4. Open the PPES Administration tool. Click Yes when prompted to secure the server
and select the user classes you want to administer the PPES Administration tool.
